About Video Codec 01

Video Codec 01 is a module that allows H.265 video files recorded using Nikon cameras to be viewed in Nikon’s NX Studio software. You can use it in combination with NX Studio if you have a Nikon camera that can record video in H.265 format.

Notices
  • • Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented installation under Windows 8.1.
    Note: Customers who have successfully installed Video Codec 01 version 1.0.0 do not need to install this update.
  • • This software is distributed as a file named “S-VDCD01-010001WF-ALLIN-ALL___.exe”. Download and run the file to perform the update.
  • • When performing the update, log in to an account with administrator privileges.
  • • Before launching the installer, exit any other applications that may be running, including anti-virus software.
  • • Read the information below before proceeding.

Installation
  1. Create a folder on the hard disk and name it as desired.
  2. Download S-VDCD01-010001WF-ALLIN-ALL___.exe to the folder created in Step 1.
  3. Run S-VDCD01-010001WF-ALLIN-ALL___.exe to launch the installer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.

• You will need to restart NX Studio when installation is complete.
Checking That the Software Is Installed
  1. Launch NX Studio (if NX Studio is already running, exit and relaunch it).
  2. In NX Studio, select an H.265 MOV video recorded with a Nikon camera.
  3. Click the video to confirm that it will play.
