About Imaging Codec 01

The Imaging Codec 01 module for Nikon’s NX Studio software enables the display of H.265 video files shot with Nikon cameras and the display and editing both of HEIF images and of NEF (RAW) images recorded with HLG selected for tone mode. Customers who have purchased a Nikon camera that can be used to record NEF (RAW) images using the HLG tone mode, HEIF images, or H.265 video can use it in combination with NX Studio version 1.4.0 or later. Users of Video Codec 01 can upgrade to Imaging Codec 01.

Installation
  1. Create a folder on the hard disk and name it as desired.
  2. Download S-VDCD01-020000WF-ALLIN-ALL___.exe to the folder created in Step 1.
  3. Run S-VDCD01-020000WF-ALLIN-ALL___.exe to launch the installer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.

• You will need to restart NX Studio when installation is complete.
Checking That the Software Is Installed
  1. Launch NX Studio (if NX Studio is already running, exit and relaunch it).
  2. In NX Studio, select any of the following pictures taken with a Nikon camera: an NEF (RAW) image shot with HLG selected for tone mode, an HEIF image, or an H.265 video.
  3. If you selected a video, click it to confirm that you can play it back.
